As happens every so often, a couple of weeks ago I realised that it had been a while since I last posted anything here.
This started an intermittent and ongoing internal monologue over what I should write as my “ooh look I’ve remembered I have a blog” post – should I ignore the fact I am a terribly inconsistent blogger and just post something trivial, should I write about how crap I am at writing and why that is (cue side-branch of internal monologue to determine exactly why I do and don’t blog) or should I just pull my finger out and actually write up one of the scribbled notes that pass for blog ideas lurking in my drafts folder? Having now become well and truly fed up of this mental tail-chasing I have decided that enough is enough. And no, I cannot just ignore the fact that I haven’t written anything here in over a month and that the couple of months before that were punctuated with nothing more than a couple of test posts. So this is me acknowledging that I am consistently inconsistent and that, regardless of whatever good intentions I may have, the chances of me blogging on any regular basis are pretty damn poor. So I shall temper my good intentions to something more achievable – in the future, if something occurs to me as being worth writing about, or even if I just feel like a quick rant, I shall write it down and if I’m even vaguely happy with the way the thoughts hang together in type then I shall post it. Well, that’s the theory anyway. Pressing “Publish Post” in 3… 2… 1…
