The gift of certificates

You know, the reason I don’t like giving cash or gift certificates as presents isn’t just that it’s admitting defeat in the inspiration stakes but also that I always end up feeling like I have to give more than I would have spent on an actual present… Why exactly, I don’t know, maybe to make up for the lack of inspiration… but when you don’t have even the tiniest hint of what kind of thing someone might like as a starting point it’s a bit hard to come up with brilliant gift ideas… Bah humbug.
